ok, if it wasnt for him....we wouldnt have them.....although we probably would, it just wouldnt be as good.

No matter what your opinion of Tony Wilson is, there is no argument to the effect he had on British music from the early 70's to the present day..... He had a vision that defied everything that that era stood for, and putting the Sex Pistls on live telly at like 6pm in the evening or something was amazing, especially for that time..........and he gave Joy Division the break they needed.......and lets be honest, if it wasnt for joy Division.....music in general wouldnt be what it is today......Although he didnt sign the Smiths......but whatevs. (Also..the editors have never heard joy division or interpol....apparently)
